Washington Scholarship Fund : The Signature Scholarship Program, in existence since 1993, provides eligible D.C. school children with up to $2,000 each for tuition in grades K-8 and up to $3,000 each for tuition in grades 9-12. To qualify, families must be at or below 270% of poverty and be residents of the District of Columbia. Entering students must be going into kindergarten through eighth grade (though once in the program, scholarships continue through high school). The vast majority of WSF scholarship students attend schools in the DC metropolitan area (in 2004-2005, students attended 128 different schools. This program is funded entirely by generous donations from individuals, foundations, corporations and non-profit institutions.

Black Student Fund: (Greater Washington, D.C. area only) Since 1964, the Black Student Fund has provided financial assistance and support services to Washington metropolitan area African-American students, grades pre-kindergarten to 12, and their families. The Fund serves as an advocate for all black children and strives to assure that black students and their families have equal access to every educational opportunity. Florida Department of Education: There are a number of different publically and priviately supported scholarship programs in the state of Florida. You can find information on the program which best suits your needs by loging on to www.floridascholchoice.org or dialing 1-800-447-1636.

Ohio EdChoice Scholarship Program The Ohio EdChoice Scholarship is a pilot program that will provide 14,000 state-funded scholarships to students who attend low-performing public schools. The scholarships can be used to attend private schools that meet state requirements for program participation. Parents Advancing Choice in Education (PACE): The PACE mission is to help families make quality education choices so that more children can successfully complete a post-secondary education. PACE began in 1997 by awarding scholarships to children in grades K-12 in Montgomery County, Ohio whose families demonstrated financial need. The goal is to give families the opportunity to choose a school they want their (children) to attend.

In addition to the scholarship program, PACE established Parents Network. This program is designed to provide information for parents to assist them with their child's education. The program helps parents answer questions for parents on how to choose the best school for their child as well as how to work closely with the schools teachers and administrators.

Parents Network conducts seminars as well as provides brochures and information sheets for parents.

CHOICES Scholarship Fund The CHOICES scholarship program is designed to assist parents in providing their children a safe and effective education in the school of their choice.

Established by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Phillips, CHOICES scholarships of $1,000 each are available on a competitive basis to students of compulsory school age (K-12) residing in Virginia.

Applications are accepted at any time during the year, and a student's application remains active for one full year.

Scholarship awards are made throughout the year. Selections are made by unanimous decision of the Scholarship Review Committee, and the Committee's decisions are final. Personal interviews with the student and his/her parent or guardian at the student's school are then conducted by Luce Policy Institute staff to confirm information submitted on the application. Payment of the scholarship is awarded following the confirmation and interview process.

Philadelphia BAEO Scholarship Program: The Philadelphia Chapter of BAEO offers two private school scholarship programs benefiting talented students residing in the city of Philadelphia. The Kindergarten � 5th grade program awards scholarships of up to $4,000 towards tuition for students to attend the private school of their family�s choice. The Deirdre L. Bailey, Esq. Scholarship Program awards up to $7,000 towards tuition for 8th grade young ladies to attend the private high school of their choice. Education Freedom Fund: The Education Freedom Fund's mission is to provide low-income Michigan families with a choice in the schools their children attend by giving tuition assistance through scholarships.

EFF scholarships are awarded to children in grades K-8 from low-income families who qualify for the federal government's free or reduced-price lunch program.Recipients receive a maximum of $1,000 annually; their parents must pay a minimum of $500 in tuition per child. Parents can choose from a wide variety of private religious, secular and even cross-district public schools for their children.
