Children's Scholarship Fund: Children's Scholarship Fund Founded in 1998, the Children's Scholarship Fund provides partial tuition assistance for low-income families to send their children to private schools. More than 70,000 children have benefited from scholarships across the United States as part of our mission to open the doors of educational opportunity to families. Currently, more than 23,000 children are using CSF scholarships. These children are attending private school due to the generosity of our donors, the efforts of 38 partner programs, and the sacrifices made by the families themselves, who pay--on average--50% of their children's tuition. The Children's Scholarship Fund provides scholarships for children grades Kindergarten - 8th. Children must be 5 years or older to receive scholarships. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation: Young Scholars Program - through this program, the Foundation selects high-achieving youth with financial need and provides them throughout high school with individualized educational opportunities and support that will enable them to develop their talents and abilities. The Foundation awards approximately 60 of these scholarships each year. The Young Scholars Program is one of the most individualized scholarships offered in the US.

The Competition -- By the 2006 application deadline, 750 students had applied for awards from the Young Scholars Program. In fall 2006, the Foundation will select 63 new Young Scholars from among this highly competitive pool. All applicants from the 2006 competition will be notified of their status by mail in November.

Educational Opportunities --Previous Young Scholars have received the support and guidance required to evaluate the suitability of their high school environment, supplement their schooling with online courses, select and attend summer academic or enrichment programs, obtain computers, software, or other learning technology, improve their musical, artistic, scientific, mathematical, or other skills, benefit from the nationwide network of Young Scholars, explore their career goals, and select the college best suited to their talents and ambitions. Each Young Scholar receives a unique combination of these and other opportunities.
