BAEO Public Information Campaign In August 2000, BAEO initiated a campaign to raise awareness about the need for, and value of, extending quality educational options to African American and low-income families. The project has included a series of television, radio, and print advertisements in several regions across the country. The BAEO ads provide information about school choice programs that benefit low-income families. They feature families that have benefited from expanded educational options in Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Florida, and community leaders who support these programs. The print advertisements have appeared in the Washington Post, The New Republic, and more than a dozen newspapers that have a primarily Black readership. The ads highlight the benefits of several different educational options, including charter schools and publicly and privately financed school vouchers. Some of the ads feature families using school vouchers in Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Florida. Others feature timely research and statistics on current school choice programs, routinely refuting myths about school choice. Click here for a complete list of print advertisements in PDF format. |
