College Summit Expands Pilot in Milwaukee
MCBAEO increases the number of students getting college prep help

The results are: 71 percent of all participating students submitted a college application (a key indicator of eventual enrollment), exceeding the pilots goal of 45 percent.

Based on this success, College Summit is expanding its Milwaukee pilot for the 2006-2007 school year to serve approximately 250 students from
Washington High School, Pulaski High School, Clara Mohammed High School and CEO Leadership Academy, 40 to 50 of whom participated in Milwaukees inaugural College Summit workshop at Marquette University during the summer of 2006.
In addition to facilitating pilot partnerships, MCBAEO will organize Milwaukees bid to launch its own College Summit office in spring 2007. Once launched, College Summit would provide the tools for Milwaukee to significantly increase the "college going rate" of low income students across the city.

By 2011, College Summit would serve at least 3,000 students in Milwaukee each year. Over this period, College Summit would invest $2.5 million in national resources to support Milwaukee in reaching its goals.

Launching an office in 2007 will require leadership from schools, colleges, community organizations and businesses across the city.
