The Black Alliance for Educational Options (BAEO) has named Felice Green its new director of communications. Green is an active member of the Milwaukee Chapter of BAEO (MCBAEO) and serves on the chapters board of directors. She will begin her new position with National BAEO in mid-June.
I am excited to be joining National BAEO to work on advancing parental choice nationwide, said Green. In my new role, I look forward to working with our members and allies in the movement from coast to coast to increase quality educational options for our children.
Green comes to BAEO from School Choice Wisconsin (SCW), an organization in Milwaukee that seeks to ensure an honest debate about school choice by providing accurate information on the impact of school choice on families, communities, and schools. Green served as the director of communications from 2004 to 2008. While at SCW, Green built and development relationships with parents, clergy, and school and community leaders to promote and gain support for parental choice.
We thank Felice for her fine work and wish her the best, said Susan Mitchell, SCW President. Felice is an asset to the school choice movement and will serve it well at BAEO.
From 2002 to 2004, Green coordinated and managed MCBAEOs local outreach for Project Clarion, a public information campaign to educate the community about two measures public school choice transfer and supplemental educational services options under the No Child Left Behind Law.
Felice has been involved with BAEO in many aspects and she brings a great deal of experience to our organization, said Gerard Robinson, National BAEO President. She will be good addition to our national, state and local work.
