BAEO Support Lawsuit against the State of Louisiana to Move Testing and Accountability Forward by using Common Core State Standards
The Black Alliance for Educational Options stood proudly today with a group led by teachers, parents and a charter school management organization at a press conference in New Orleans, LA where the group announced they had filed suit in East Baton Rouge Parish, arguing that Governor Bobby Jindal's efforts to interfere with the implementation of testing standards are unconstitutional and illegal.
School board decisions a blow to west Louisville
The decision by the Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) to build a new school in the upscale neighborhood of Norton Commons is yet another blow to the low-income and working-class families of west Louisville. The Black Alliance for Educational Options is saddened to see such a blatant disregard for this vulnerable community just weeks after the closing of Myers Middle School.
